E-mail is the fastest and most effective way to reach me.

NOTE: No special web browser software is required to view my web pages. They should be readable with almost any web browser (including the text-based "lynx" browser). I have avoided the use of features such as non-standard browser-specific extensions, java, java script, random plugins, and animated GIFs because they are distracting and slow things down. Call me a traditionalist. (Thanks to Chuck Cranor for this paragraph.)

General information

I am a Senior Technology Architect in the Information Technology Services division of Case Western Reserve University. (My office overlooks the prettiest building on this side of campus.)

I graduated from CWRU with a B.S. in Computer Engineering in 1987, and received a Master's in Computer Science, also from CWRU, in August, 1993.

I live in Novelty, Ohio, with my wife, Elizabeth Ruzga, my daughter, Jenna Ruzga, and my son, Caleb Ramey. They are the lights of my life. We are also owned by cats, dogs (named Jesolo), and cats we foster from the local APL.

I have an occasionally-updated blog where I write on things of interest.

View pictures of my 2005 trip to Europe.

Pictures of my 2003 trip to California with family are still here.

You can read an interview I recently did with Computerworld.

An old interview from 2002 is also online.

My Projects

One of my hobbies is writing software, specifically free software. Here are some details on my software projects:

I also maintain an interests page with miscellaneous technical and non-technical information. See my links page for more interesting links.

I am the Usenix campus liason for CWRU. Find out more about the Usenix University Outreach program here.
